Learning My Lesson about Free Credit Reports

I never paid much attention to the commercials on TV about credit reports.  To be honest, I thought that I was immune to identity theft. I thought that since my credit was good, I was not going to have any problems. I learned out the hard way that I was wrong on both counts and that was a painful lesson.  Not only did someone steal my identity and take out credit cards in my name, I learned that this was very bad news for my credit.  I now will get my free credit report every year. I urge my family and friends to do the same!
