Releasing Chinese Lanterns at the October festival in Hong Kong
February 6, 2010 7:45 pm MiscellaneousIn October, Hong Kong has the Golden Week festival. During this time, lots of people will journey there for the week long celebrations. Chinese Lanterns will hang in the streets and be released for the whole of the festival. Lots of tourists go shopping so the streets are very crowded, and accomodation is often completely full. Chinese natives also visit to buy jewellery which is better than what they can buy in mainland China. Fireworks displays happen throughout the week, and stalls selling old pottery and art are all around. Cakes are sold, and young people make paper lanterns to carry around the streets.
